What is the cost of the class?
$800 per person, reimbursable by New York State if you are affiliated with an agency. Payment in full is due the first day of class.

Refresher students are $335 per person, also due the first day of class.

Who is the course sponsor?
Woodstock Rescue is sponsoring this course.

What book are you using and what is the cost?
Emergency Care of the Sick and Injured, 12th edition – Advantage Package – Use this link to get a discount on the book.

What supplies will be provided by Wallkill Ambulance?
– Notebook
– Stethoscope
– Blood pressure cuff
– All supplies needed for skills labs

Where is the class being held?
Wallkill Volunteer Ambulance Corps – 231 First Street, Wallkill, NY 12589.

When is the practical exam?
Saturday, May 10, 2025 at 9:00am.

When can I take my state written exam?
On or after May 15, 2025.

What do I need to bring with me to class?
– Pen or other writing utensil
– Notebook
– Appropriate clothing (BDU pants, neat t-shirt or polo) and footwear (boots, black preferred) for ambulance ride time
– Analog wrist watch
– Non-LED pen light
– Agency code if associated with an agency

Do I need a computer?
You must have access to a computer, preferably with Microsoft Office programs. If you do not have a computer, most FD/EMS organizations have one you may be able to use, or Public Libraries have computers available.

How old do I need to be to take the class?
You must be 17 years old by Mar 31st, 2025, to register for this class.

How do I get reimbursed by my agency for the class?
To be eligible for NYS Tuition Reimbursement you should be a member of an Agency with a NYS BEMSAT Agency Code by the end of the course. If you become an active member of an agency with a NYS BEMSAT Agency Code you and your agency can claim Tuition Reimbursement.

Upon successful completion of the course, students belonging to an Agency with a NYS BEMSAT Agency Code can claim reimbursement for the full $800.00, from NYS BEMSAT.  If the Agency does not have a NYS Vendor ID, Wallkill Volunteer Ambulance Corps will work with you to apply for the reimbursement.

Other important information
Students must be physically capable of performing all required skills included in the EMT Program as defined by the NYS DOH, BEMSAT,  Functional Job Description of an EMT.

IF ADA Assistance is required we will follow the NYS BEMSAT Policy 22-03.

Wallkill Volunteer Ambulance Corps and Woodstock Rescue reserve the right to cancel any course at least a week prior to the start of the course. We also reserve the right to modify the course schedule before or during the course as necessary.
